This weekend was busy. Friday morning D and I headed down to Merced to be with our friends who were losing their son. Two months ago they adopted a baby in an open adoption who is of Native American heritage. Because of the Indian and Child Welfare Act anyone in the tribe has 8 months to object to the adoption. After two months, the birth mother decided that she "missed her baby" too much and wanted to renege. Though our friends spent time with her, offered her many generous options of big happy family-ness, and though a whole army of saints was praying, God did not intervene and on Friday Baby H was stolen from his parents.
D and I had the great and terrible honor of being with our friends when they lost their son. I captured quite a few pictures of this cuddly sweet and his friends and family who were there. D is Baby H's godfather, and this was our first chance to meet him. We pray that it will not be the last.
We are praying for healing for our friends. We are praying for God's supernatural protection and intervention in the life of Baby H. We are praying that Baby H would come to know Jesus. We are praying that God would help us understand how this pain can be used for His Glory. There is nothing good about this, but we believe that God is good. Will you pray with us if you are reading this?
