This weekend was such a lot of fun. It began on Friday evening with a terrific dinner party with friends from church. We played a wine tasting game, ate a delicious bounty of food, and a rousing game of Balderdash. Did you know that pandication means yawning and stretching before bed? Now ya do.

Saturday included fence building help, house moving help, sisters arriving from out of town and birthday party celebrations. No pictures were taken, but much fun was had!
Sunday after church we tried out a new place in Folsom, Willow Café and Sweetery. It was quite excellent. We missed the breakfast menu, sadly. We want to return. But we were all well pleased with our meals. I had a yummy chicken salad sandwich and green salad. D had mini-sliders, and Genny had a Waldorf salad.

Monday we slept in until 11am. It was glorious! Then we skidaddled downtown to Orphan Breakfast House on C and 35th and ate a phenomenal breakfast. I've been trying to get D to go there since I went with friends for my birthday last year, to no avail. But as we left he lamented all the missed chances. The good news is that by waiting so long, we got to share the goodness with one more person. People, go here!! They're open 365 days a year (closed on leap year day [I'm making that up]) from 7-2pm during the week and 3pm during the weekend. Go! Be amazed. Get the French Toast!

After our breakfast we walked it off at the Effie Yeaw nature center in Ancil Hoffman park. We walked on the trails down to the river and back, reveling in the beautiful weather and God's wonderful creations. We saw many flowers, squirrels, caterpillars, butterflies, and trees.

Sunday evening we enjoyed a barbeque at our Ish's (Family-ish [SIL's parents and fam]) who live within walking distance. We fed a goat and pet a horse on our way there ('cause Orangevale is in the stix), and once back home again, we played a final game of Ticket to Ride and then I bottled the fragrant lavender a friend brought me earlier in the week. I'm looking forward to baking with it!
