For a friend's lingerie bridal shower I'm in charge of décor. The color scheme is red and black, the theme "naughty and nice." What better way to spice up white pillar candles than a little lace in the perfect colors.
All you need are white pillar candles (in assorted sizes), flat lace (different patterns/widths/colors add interest) and straight pins. If you can find pins with heads that match your lace colors, that's the best. Otherwise pins without large heads (like shirt pins) will work. Hot glue is another, more permanent option.
Wrap the lace around the candle so that it overlaps about 1/4". Make a small cut where you will cut the lace, then unwrap it and cut the lace at the right spot. Wrap the cut lace around the candle and secure it with a pin. Be sure the lace is wrapped tightly enough that it does not slip off the candle.
If your candle is smaller than your lace, don't hesitate to cut the lace pattern apart. Below, the candles on the far left and far right share the same piece of lace, divided with the pattern horizontally.
Arrange candles on a tray or cake platter and let them light up your party!
